I looked away for 2 seconds, but that was just enough time to have my hours of rubixing completely undone. Paul felt terrible once I explained to him how hard I had worked to get it to the point of complete solution except for the top layer.

Rubik’s Cube, its fun…

Rubik's Cube

Â

A parting gift from my coworker (Aaron Antaya) of almost 4 years. I have taken it on as a personal challenge to defeat this simple mind game by whatever means necessary. Which means I am willing to cheat if that is what it takes. I played around with trying to figure out some movement patters for about a half an hour… and then I turned to the internet to save me. Apparently there is a formulated approach to solving these things. You can view my progress here. So far I am pretty confident, but it seems to get more difficult as the moves get closer to the solution.  I am already a little bit ashamed of my eminent hollow victory, its kinda like flying a helicopter to the top of Everest. Perhaps I will treat this as a training lesson and then take on the big 4X4X4 later…

Shane’s Progress

Shane’s Cheat Sheet

I especially like the last step…
But it won’t come to that, I promise… I am willing to take advice, but I still have my scruples.
